Create a Production for an already created Adobe Project on my system (local)
If you have created an Adobe Project on your system locally, you can later turn this into a Curator Production. You might do this if you’ve not created a production first, in error, perhaps. With your local Adobe Project open in your Adobe software;
- Select ‘Create a Production’.
- The 'Create a Production tool will detect you have a local Adobe Project open and use the project as a template in the Curator Production and save the project file to the Production.
Ensure your assets in the Adobe Project are stored in Curator so they are easily linkable in the future.
Update and link your Production with an updated Adobe Project edited locally
If you have continued to work on an Adobe Project on your local system without checking it out of Curator first, don’t worry. At any stage during your edit; you are able to check out the already established Production of the same name as the Adobe Project from Curator and link the Curator Production to your Local Adobe Project thus ensuring Curator can retrieve the latest version of your project, later. With my local Adobe Project open:
-
Select ‘Check out a Production’ in the Adobe Panel against the production for the Adobe Project you have open in your Adobe software
-
The ‘Check out a production’ tool will detect you have a local Adobe Project open of the same name
-
Expand the chevron for ‘Project File'
-
Select ‘Link Local Project’
-
Select ‘Check Out’
-
Your Adobe project has now linked with your Curator Production and any changes can now be saved (checked in) to Curator.
Create a Production in Clip Link
-
Select the three dot menu top right and navigate to and select ‘Use an Extension > Create Production’
-
In the ‘Create a Production’ pop-up submission, submit a name and metadata collectively (metadata configured in Managing asset metadata) much like you would if creating in the Adobe Panel (as above)
-
Select ‘Create’. Otherwise, ‘Cancel’
-
You will be notified in your display that the Production has been created in Curator:
6. The production will be placed in a location within Curator determined by configuration.
