A bookmark (marker) marks a single timecode point in a video or audio asset. You can name it separately from the main (parent) asset and use it to log notes and metadata at that point - for example as a reference for editors in post-production, for project collaborators, or for notes during a live stream.
Bookmarks and sub-clips
A bookmark marks one frame. A sub-clip covers a range, from an in point to an out point. Both are saved as child assets of the parent asset, and you can change a bookmark into a sub-clip, or a sub-clip into a bookmark, by changing its marked points.
Finding bookmarks
With the parent asset open in the Asset viewer, open the Sub-Clips panel on the right. Bookmarks are listed with the sub-clips, marked with a bookmark icon and a single timecode.

Bookmarks are also assets in their own right, so you can search for them and use the bookmark asset type in Filters to show or hide them in the asset pane.
Working with bookmarks
- Create a new bookmark
- Edit a bookmark
- Create a new bookmark from an existing bookmark
- Create a sub-clip or bookmark in logging mode
- To remove a bookmark, delete it like any other asset. It moves to the Trash, where it can be restored until it is purged.
