Asset Thumbnails can be managed by replacing the default thumbnail with an alternative point in the asset for video media and sub-slip assets. The thumbnail of a video bookmark is the bookmark position, only. The thumbnail of an audio asset is a default image provided in Curator. The thumbnail of an image asset is that of the image itself. Thumbnails are not provided for folders or collections, yet. Thumbnails for video media assets are not selectable for assets other than a still from a timeline point, yet. Thumbnails are not selectable for image and audio assets, yet.
The asset thumbnails in view are the same for all users of the assets in display.
How to change the thumbnail of a video media asset

Search for the asset video or sub-clip asset you wish to change the thumbnail of (Searching and viewing assets)

Right click the asset to reveal the Asset viewer.

Navigate to the point of the timeline you wish to thumbnail an image of
- The point of the timeline for a sub-clip thumbnail must be within the in and out point of the sub-clip.

Select ‘Update thumbnail’

The thumbnail is updated and is reflected in view for all users.
