This page explains how to create a collection in Curator in preparation for (Adding assets to a collection).
Create a blank collection

From the Collections and Productions panel, select ‘Create new’.

Submit the required information for your new Collection from the ‘Create New Collection’ form. The information required is dependent on what has been configured by your lead or system administrator. This is explained in more detail in Collection metadata information:

Select ‘Create’. Otherwise, ‘Cancel’

Notifications will be displayed keeping you updated on when the Collection is being created and when it has been successfully created.
- Your collection is now ready to use and can be searched for as well. (Searching and viewing assets)
- Your collection has been created in a folder dependent on what information (metadata) you submitted in the form when creating the collection.
- The folder path destination of the created collection is driven by the metadata submitted. Collections can only be created and formed in metadata-driven destinations.
Create a collection of pre-selected assets
- Drag over or select one/many assets from the Asset pane.
- With your chosen assets selected, right click and select 'Create Collection or Production'.
- Follow step 2 onward from the list of steps above. Note that the collection created will have your pre-selected assets added as per the alternative form advising the assets as well.
