The information required when creating a collection can be found in the configured Collections metadata view (Managing Metadata views)

Editing metadata information required when creating a collection

  1. To determine the metadata required when creating, tagged to and managing a collection - search for and edit metadata view ‘Collections’ as per Metadata views explained.
  2. Amend the enum values of the Metadata names in the metadata view ‘Collections' to form a new folder path.

Example:

  • Added enum value: ‘News Content’ to metadata name ‘Collection Type’
  • Added enum value: ‘Urgent’ to metadata name ‘Priority’
  • Added enum value: ‘Best folder ever’ to metadata name ‘Collection Destination’
  • Form is automatically updated for submission:

  • Folder path of the newly created collection reflects the metadata submitted

Warning

The above illustrates the default behavior of Curator. In most cases, your system will be customized to meet your business requirements, so metadata names may appear differently, and collections may be created in different locations.

Editing information (metadata) submitted to a collection

To edit some of the information (metadata) submitted into the metadata of a collection including renaming the collection or recategorising the collection:

  1. Search for and select the collection you wish to amend information of (Searching and viewing assets)
  2. Follow how to view asset metadata and edit asset metadata of the collection(s) (or asset(s)) selected.
