Assets can be downloaded from the asset pane (Asset pane thumbnail views) provided you have permission to download that asset.
Download an asset

Locate and right-click the selected asset

Select 'Download Hi-res'

Review the download progress in the Activity log

Your asset downloads to your browser's download location, where you can also follow its progress.
