# Reordering items in a collection

### Overview

As of Curator version 4.2, you are able to sort items within a collection or change the order of items in a collection in Clip Link.

### Reordering items

When a collection is opened in the [asset viewer](/docs/asset-viewer-1), you can select the **Collection** icon ( ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/collections icon.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T13%3A20%3A38Z&se=2026-10-26T14%3A20%3A38Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=%2FU7BYqj%2Fl8sm4Co1bYVmVPKjRMBiiSYcSufdiFhtt3Y%3D) ) on the right-hand side of the player to view all items within that collection.

From here, collections can be sorted using the **Sort by** drop-down.

**Note:** When no sort option is applied, assets will appear in their saved order.

Asset order can also be manually changed by grabbing the **Drag to move** icon ( ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/drag to move.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T13%3A20%3A38Z&se=2026-10-26T14%3A20%3A38Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=%2FU7BYqj%2Fl8sm4Co1bYVmVPKjRMBiiSYcSufdiFhtt3Y%3D) ) on a selected asset and then dragging it directly to a different position in the list.

The target position in the list is indicated by a green horizontal line.
