Adobe Software and Curator software

The following is a list of supported Adobe software and operating system versions that Curator For Adobe is compatible with.

Microsoft Windows Operating systems, expected to work with Windows 11:

Adobe CC 2026

CFA 4.4 for Curator 4.4

CFA 4.3 for Curator 4.3

CFA 4.2 for Curator 4.2

CFA 4.1 for Curator 4.1

Main limitations in Adobe CC 2026 versions:

  • Premiere Pro - See Media Encoder note below for information on remote export compatibility.

    • HEVC: from Premiere Pro 25.6, Adobe have disabled programmatic HEVC export, so HEVC exports from the Curator panel don’t work. Use local export instead.

  • Media Encoder 25.6 onwards - Adobe Media Encoder version 25.6 onwards introduces changes that impact remote export functionality. To maintain compatibility using these versions, you must install Workflows-Edit and Publish - Adobe-1.12.8.0.zip or later on all systems using 4.2 or later. If you require use of Premiere Pro/Adobe Media Encoder 2026 in a system running an older version than Curator 4.2, please talk to IPV Support.

    Adobe Media Encoder 2026:

    • Adobe have made changes where some versions/configurations may experience an issue where CUDA GPU acceleration is unavailable or not correctly selected. This can result in reduced GPU utilisation and slower rendering/export performance.

  • Upcoming Adobe requirements (27.x and 28.x) - Adobe have announced the following changes. Check your Premiere Pro workstations and Media Encoder render servers before upgrading Adobe software.

    • GPU required: from version 27.0, Premiere Pro and Media Encoder will not launch on a system without a GPU. Later 27.x releases will not launch if the only GPU does not meet Adobe's minimum (currently 4 GB of GPU memory, with NVIDIA GPUs of the Maxwell generation or newer). After Effects and Audition are not affected.

    • Windows: version 27.x requires Windows 11 version 24H2 or later. Windows 10 is no longer supported, and installation is blocked on Windows 11 23H2.

    • Windows Server: Windows Server 2022 can still install and run version 27.x. From version 28.0, installation is blocked on Windows Server 2022 and all other Windows 10-based systems, so plan to move render servers to Windows Server 2025.

  • Audition - New since the 4.2 release. Not compatible with earlier Curator versions.

Adobe CC 2025

CFA 4.4 for Curator 4.4

CFA 4.3 for Curator 4.3

CFA 4.2 for Curator 4.2

CFA 4.1 for Curator 4.1

CFA 4.0 for Curator 4.0

CFA 3.5 for Curator 3.7.2

CFA 3.4 HotFixes for Curator 3.6.8 to 3.6.10

Main limitations in Adobe CC 2025 versions:

  • Premiere Pro - use Premiere Pro v25.6 or newer (provided Workflows-Edit and Publish - Adobe-1.12.8.0.zip or later is installed on all relevant systems - see Media Encoder note for more information).

    • To ensure compatibility, always use Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder versions from the same release year (e.g. Premiere Pro 2026 with Adobe Media Encoder 2026). Mixing versions from different release years is not supported.

    • HEVC: from Premiere Pro 25.6, Adobe have disabled programmatic HEVC export, so HEVC exports from the Curator panel don’t work. Use local export instead.

    • Do not use any 25.5 version as Adobe import is broken for these versions.

    • Do not use 25.0 as “Import to the bin” is not working in these versions due to a bug in the Adobe Premiere Pro API. Importing of sequences is not possible in 25.3 but is working in version 25.4.1 and newer.

  • After Effects - use After Effects v25.1.0 or newer. Do not use 25.0 or 25.0.1 as “Import to the bin” is not working in this version due to a bug in the Adobe After Effects API.

If you require use of version 25.6 or later of this software in a system running an older version than Curator 4.2, please talk to IPV Support. If the required workflow version cannot be installed, consider remaining on Adobe Media Encoder version 25.5 or earlier.

  • Media Encoder 25.5 - Do not use any 25.5 version of Adobe Media Encoder, as a bug in these versions prevents successful export.

  • Audition - New since the 4.2 release. Not compatible with earlier Curator versions.

macOS operating systems:

Expected to work with all and the latest version of the OS.

  • Photoshop - requires Rosetta when running on macOS with ARM M-series architecture.

  • Upcoming Adobe requirements (27.x) - From version 27.0, Adobe video and audio apps require macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later on Apple silicon (M1 or newer). Intel-based Macs are not supported and can stay on 26.x. Premiere Pro and Media Encoder 27.0 will also not launch without a GPU.

  • Audition - New since the 4.2 release. Not compatible with earlier Curator versions
