Curator For Adobe - Graphics Panel Configuration

Updated on July 2nd, 2023

Introduction

With the recent release of the Curator for Adobe graphics panels (Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop), we have had to add some new configuration options to Curator System Administrator.

This article will outline those configuration settings and what they mean.

Project Management Settings

These settings are in place for saving/retrieving the Adobe project from Curator. The addition of settings for Photoshop and Illustrator mimics what we already have for Premiere and After Effects.

  • Project Checked-Out By Metadata Name - this is the name of the Curator metadata field for storing the user who has checked the project out.
  • Labels - this is the Curator File Service label used to identify the files to access.

Graphics New Project Settings

These settings relate to the creation of new projects within Photoshop and Illustrator. We have duplicated the settings from the "Video Create Production Settings", which are applicable to Premiere and After Effects so that you can have different setups for the Graphic Panel set.

  • Metadata View - the metadata view that displays when creating a project. This must be created in the Metadata Views tab prior to being added here.
  • Path Metadata Names - the metadata names that will be used as part of the project folder path in Curator. These names need to be included in the Metadata View in order for the user to select them and have the path built out.
  • Base Location - the base folder the project will be saved in within Curator.

Upload Settings

These settings relate to the upload of files into Curator from the Graphics Panels via Curator File Service in the background.

  • Upload Metadata View - the metadata view that displays when uploading an asset. This must be created in the Metadata Views tab prior to being added here.
  • Path Metadata Names -  the metadata names that will be used as part of the asset's folder path within Curator. These names need to be included in the Metadata View in order for the user to select them and have the path built out.
  • Base Location - the base folder the assets will be saved in within Curator.
  • Extension List - the list of extensions to either include or exclude.
  • Filter Type - whether the list of extensions should be allowed (denying all others), or denied (allowing all others).
  • Label - the label to apply to uploaded files. This is used by Curator File Service.
