How do I install the Curator for Adobe panel?

In order to access the Curator for Adobe panel, it's necessary to install and configure the application first. Please speak to your Curator System Administrator to get a copy of the installation package.

Installing Curator for Adobe on Windows

The installation is simple, and the easiest way to get started is by watching the install how-to video below:

NOTE: This guide instructs how to connect to an IPV Curator system, to connect to your environment it's required to enter your respective Curator Gateway Url when requested to do so. If you don't know what this is, speak to the main Curator stakeholders within your company to get this information.


 Installing Curator for Adobe on Mac

Complete the following steps to install Curator for Adobe on MacOS.

Install Adobe Premiere Pro
 

Available from Adobe's website.  

Note: Please use the installer marked for the year version of Adobe product that you use (there are two Win and two Mac installers). For Remote Export you must have matching year release of Edit application and AME and the same matched version of the IPV product on both ends. Inspect the Publisher property of the IPV Curator for Adobe to confirm

 
Install IPV Curator for Adobe
 
Running this as administrator will automatically install the components. Run the installer:
 
Accept Licence Agreement
 
 
Choose installation directory
 
 
If prompted enter administrator login details
 
 
Complete Installation
 
 
Install IPV Importer/Exporter
 
Open the IPV Curator for Adobe application as an administrator.
plug symbols will be red if the applications are not installed, blue if installed. Please note that the Install All/Remove All will only apply to the plugins shown in the list. Use the Plugin drop down list to select the Importer and Exporter plugins and install them sequentially.  
 
Open the Curator for Adobe Panel
 

Load Adobe Premiere Pro and open or create a project. Select "Windows > Extensions > Curator for Adobe"The panel will load and display a message saying it cannot connect to the Curator Server.

 

NOTE: If you are using Adobe Photoshop 2024, the Curator for Adobe extension may not be displayed by default. If this is not visible:
1. Go to the Adobe Photoshop 2024 menu, and select Settings.

2. From the list of options, select Plugins.

3. From here, tick both of the checkboxes listed under Legacy Extensions.

If the options listed under Legacy Extensions are not clickable:
1. Exit Photoshop.

2. Locate the Adobe Photoshop 2024 application in your applications folder.

3. Right-click on it and select Get Info.

4. Tick the Open using Rosetta checkbox.

On re-opening Adobe Photoshop 2024, with a file open, you should now be able to select the Legacy Extensions options if these are not already selected and should be able to see the Curator for Adobe panel appear from the Window>Extensions (legacy) menu.

 
Open Preferences
 
Click the cog in the top right, and open Preferences:
 
Set Curator Server Host
 
Change the Curator Server Host to have the FQDN/IP Address of the machine hosting Curator Server:   Replace: https://localhost:11210/CuratorServer With: https://CURATOR_SERVER_HOST:11210/CuratorServer  
 
Change Authentication to use Gateway
 
Under the Authentication Method drop-down, select Curator Gateway
 
Set Gateway Host
 
An Authentication Host field will appear after selecting Gateway, change the hostname to the FQDN/IP Address hosting the Curator Gateway website: Replace: https://localhost/CuratorGateway With: https://IIS.HOST/CuratorGateway 
 
Click Save
 
When finished, click Save: 
 
Login
