Adding .mogrt file support into Curator (3.4 or older)

Updated on July 2nd, 2023

Please note that for optimal support of .mogrt files you are advised to upgrade to Curator 3.5 or later as .mogrt support in Curator 3.4 is very limited without being able to directly import to Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premiere Pro.

In order to add support for .mogrt files to Curator, the following steps should be taken:

  • From the Process Engine Monitor MediaStores tab, select the GLOBAL MediaStore and add *.mogrt| to the Key FileTypesOther. There will already be a number of file types on the list so append the list with this entry.
  • Add the attached mogrt.png image file to the IPV\Curator\PRODUCTION\Resources\Images folder.

That completes the steps needed for .mogrt file support in Curator. This has been tested as working in Curator 2.2.1 and beyond.

Note the following key points around .mogrt file support in Curator:

  • At the time of publishing (July 2020), there is no support for .mogrt files in Remote Conform in Adobe Premiere/Media Encoder. Local Conform must be used.
  • .mogrt files cannot be imported from Curator into Adobe Premiere directly. In order to access any .mogrt files, the .mogrt file must be exported out of Curator first using a SendToDestination plug-in in Clip Select or Clip Link, then imported into Adobe Premiere using File> Import.
