Differences between deleting and deactivating users
Unused accounts can be deleted or deactivated by system administrators via Curator Gateway's Users section (found under User Management).
Clicking this button will reveal a searchable list of managed user accounts. From here, you can delete or deactivate user accounts using the icons to the right of a user's details.
When a user's account is deleted or deactivated, that user will immediately lose access to all services connected to their account. The main difference between deactivating and deleting a user's account is as follows:
- If a user's account is deactivated, their personal/active data will remain in Curator, and their account can be reactivated at any time.
- If a user's account is deleted, the account and all of its associated data will be removed permanently (including active progress on any checked out assets, collections or Productions), and their account cannot be reactivated.
NOTE: When a user's account is deleted, assets that are currently checked out under that account will not be deleted, but any progress made on any checked out items will be lost.
