# Two factor authentication

#### How do I enable two-factor authentication?

1. Access your [User profile](/docs/user-profile-explained).
2. Select the edit icon beside **Two Factor Authentication**:

1. Follow the instructions to:
  1. Install the two-factor authenticator app on your smart device, as per the instructions.
  2. Validate Curator via the authenticator app on your smart device by scanning the QR code or by entering the generated key.
  3. Retrieve the unique verification code from the authenticator app and enter it.
  4. Select **Configure**.

1. Your [User profile](/docs/user-profile-explained) should now indicate that two-factor authentication has been enabled.
