# Quick search

## Searching

You can quickly search for assets using the free text search bar. To learn how to save a search, see [Saving a search](/docs/saving-a-search).

Type text or a metadata tag name into the quick search bar, and the asset pane will update in real time:

- Results include assets with the search term in their title.
- Results also include assets with metadata that matches your search term, even if the asset name or title does not.
- **Curator 4.4 and later:** metadata held in Blob metadata names is not indexed, so it is not included in search results.

### Recent searches

All searches you make using the quick search bar are stored under **Recent Searches**, which appear when you click into the search bar.

To remove a recent search term, click the X next to it.
