When you open a parent asset with multiple sub-clips already created, the logging view will list the sub-clips ready for you to log. You can open multiple assets/parent assets in preparation to log. Here is an example of one asset with 6 sub-clips created ready to log as seen in the **Sub-Clips** tab: ![The logging view with a parent asset open and its six sub-clips listed in the Sub-Clips tab, ready to log](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/logging%20sub%20clip%20view.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A25%3A28Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A25%3A28Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=xB26IPTR7qpyK7ZwwcDR9Tzh8pL6QFoP6WlsZ1cPbwo%3D) 1. Double-click a sub-clip in the **Sub-Clips** view. 2. The Asset viewer will display the in and out point of the clip selected. 3. The Logging area (tab) will open. 4. From here, you can log information and a description for the sub-clip. ![A sub-clip open in the Logging tab, with metadata buttons and fields to fill in and the Save button](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/logging%20sub%20clip%20view%202.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A25%3A28Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A25%3A28Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=xB26IPTR7qpyK7ZwwcDR9Tzh8pL6QFoP6WlsZ1cPbwo%3D) 5. Select **Save**. 6. In the **Sub-Clips** tab, with list view selected, you will see the clip updated with the notes and metadata submitted and saved. **NOTE:** You may need to enable visibility of certain columns via the **Columns** drop-down in order to view these. ![The Sub-Clips tab in list view, showing each sub-clip's Counter, Name, Start and End Timecode and the saved Description](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/logging%20sub%20clip%20view%203.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A25%3A28Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A25%3A28Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=xB26IPTR7qpyK7ZwwcDR9Tzh8pL6QFoP6WlsZ1cPbwo%3D)
