Your administrator has configured [Curator for Adobe Ingest](/docs/configuring-curator-for-adobe-ingest). 2. You have [Curator Connect](/docs/installing-curator-connect) installed on your local machine. 3. You have [Curator for Adobe](/docs/installing-the-adobe-panel) installed on your local machine. 4. Curator Connect is running, either as an open application or minimised in your system tray. #### Steps to ingest local files 1. Open Adobe Premiere Pro and launch the Curator for Adobe extension. 2. Log in to Curator. 3. [Check out](/docs/open-check-out-an-adobe-project-production) a production you want to work on. 4. With your production open, import any local files you require into it by dragging and dropping them into Premiere Pro's project bin. ![Premiere Pro with a production open, its project bin highlighted showing local files dragged in alongside Curator assets](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Setting/project_bin-r20.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A39%3A08Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A39%3A08Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=3%2FlFyXdgn6TW62wJZsYY2o8yuO7Y%2BOb5huBhxz7qdr0%3D) 5. Select the Adobe production type logo on the left-hand side of the Curator for Adobe panel. ![Adobe Production Type Logo](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/image-KFYJLZ3K.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A39%3A08Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A39%3A08Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=3%2FlFyXdgn6TW62wJZsYY2o8yuO7Y%2BOb5huBhxz7qdr0%3D)The display will show the contents of your Adobe bin, including the assets in the production. 6. From here, open the **Actions** menu drop-down and select **Scan for local files**. The system will scan your Adobe bin for any locally stored files and display a list of detected assets. ![Step 1 Media of the UPLOAD TO CURATOR dialog, listing detected local files with checkboxes to choose which to ingest](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/Screenshot 2026-01-21 165038.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A39%3A08Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A39%3A08Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=3%2FlFyXdgn6TW62wJZsYY2o8yuO7Y%2BOb5huBhxz7qdr0%3D) From this pop-up, you can select/deselect the files you want to ingest. 7. From here, the steps that follow may vary depending on your configuration and the selected file(s): A) **Adding metadata:** Clicking **Next** here (if available) displays an additional screen from which you can add applicable metadata to the selected files before upload. ![Step 2 Metadata of the UPLOAD TO CURATOR dialog, with required Genre, Shot Style and Speed fields](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/2. metadta - with view - Screenshot 2026-01-22 102039.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A39%3A08Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A39%3A08Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=3%2FlFyXdgn6TW62wJZsYY2o8yuO7Y%2BOb5huBhxz7qdr0%3D) Once you have selected your metadata, click **Next** again. You will get a chance to confirm your selection(s) before selecting **Submit**. ![Step 3 Confirm of the UPLOAD TO CURATOR dialog, summarising the selected assets and metadata before you select Submit](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/3. confirmation - with view - Screenshot 2026-01-21 170531.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A39%3A08Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A39%3A08Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=3%2FlFyXdgn6TW62wJZsYY2o8yuO7Y%2BOb5huBhxz7qdr0%3D) B) **Simple upload:** Alternatively, depending on the configuration set, the screen may simply display files you can select from that are ready for **Upload**. ![The LOCAL FILES FOUND dialog listing files ready to upload, with the confirmation checkbox and the Upload button](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/1. Once your selection is confirmed, the ingest process will begin, and you can monitor progress from the upload queue. ![Upload Queue](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/image-M2F6U5NT.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A39%3A08Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A39%3A08Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=3%2FlFyXdgn6TW62wJZsYY2o8yuO7Y%2BOb5huBhxz7qdr0%3D) 9. When the upload of the asset(s) is complete, the asset(s) will no longer appear in the **UPLOAD** queue list and will now appear in the **INGESTING** list with the status **In progress**. ![An asset in the INGESTING list of the upload queue with a yellow dot and the status In progress](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/image%20%2839%29.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A39%3A08Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A39%3A08Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=3%2FlFyXdgn6TW62wJZsYY2o8yuO7Y%2BOb5huBhxz7qdr0%3D) At this stage, these asset(s) can be safely saved using **Quick save** or checked in to release the project to other users, and can be used like any other Curator-managed files. 10. It is now safe to disconnect the session - ingest will continue in the background as the assets are now available to be used in Curator processes. **Note: Newly uploaded assets will appear in your project upon reloading it (navigating away from and back to it again).** During ingest, assets will appear in the **INGESTING** list in the queue with a yellow dot and the status **In progress**. Once ingest is completed, the yellow dot beside the asset(s) will change to a green dot and their status will change to **Completed**. ![An asset in the INGESTING list of the upload queue with a green dot and the status Completed](https://cdn.document360.io/c173e68f-0609-4297-9277-0fc5c6b45db7/Images/Documentation/image%20%2840%29.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T10%3A39%3A08Z&se=2026-10-26T11%3A39%3A08Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=3%2FlFyXdgn6TW62wJZsYY2o8yuO7Y%2BOb5huBhxz7qdr0%3D) **Note: Once files are uploaded, other users can check the project out after it has been checked in, but proxies will only become available once the ingest completes.**
