# Filters

This article explains the different ways you can filter the assets shown in the asset pane, helping you view, manage, and work with your media more efficiently.

You can toggle the asset pane to display results filtered by **metadata** or by **folder path and location** using the **Filters** or **Folders** icons (see [Folders](/docs/folders-doc)). The filter panel options for metadata can also be customised.

Filters can be applied individually or in conjunction with each other to refine your results, with or without using the search function.

#### Filter by asset type

By default the asset pane shows all asset types. Select one or more of the following asset types to show only those types, with or without a search:

- Video
- Audio
- Image
- Bookmark
- Sub-clip
- Collection
- Folder

#### Filter by AI generated assets

Using the **Show AI generated assets** option, you can choose whether search results include assets from AI services. Turn it on to include them, or off to hide them.

#### Custom filters

Using the filter options, you can filter results by metadata. Your system administrator can set up custom filters based on metadata.
